TIG Welder / Fabricator 

Job Description

Summary

Due to increasing sales, a bottleneck in the process has been highlighted in the welding area. We are looking to recruit an experienced TIG welder, competent in thin grades (0.9 > 3.0mm) of Aluminium processing, to work in our precision sheet metal factory, where we specialise in parts for instrumentation and defence.

The main role will be to fabricate/weld our customers precision parts, including aluminium fuel tanks. Further training on in house processes and procedures will be given.

Using and creating jigs, cleaning, polishing, and grinding are also desirable but not essential skills for this role.

You must be able to work efficiently, and effectively as part of our experienced team, have a keen attention to detail and be fully focused on delivering the highest level of quality and service to every customer.

The Company

Pegasus Precision are based in Bethersden on the outskirts of Ashford. We specialise in the manufacture of high-quality low volume sheet metal components in a range of materials. Our customer base is mainly in the medical and scientific instrumentation sector.

Essential Skills

  • Experience in predominantly TIG welding
  • Experience in aluminium, mild steel and stainless steel welding in sheet material thicknesses of 0.5 to 3.0mm.
  • Experience or ability to weld complex fuel tanks in 1.5mm aluminium sheet

  • Must be able to work independently and as part of team.
  • Able to read and work from technical drawings.
  • Design and make jigs to aid the welding process and assembly where required.
  • A full weld test will be required during the interview process.
